Kresniške Poljane is a settlement on the right bank of the river Sava in the Litija municipality in central Slovenia. It lies between Jevnica and Kresnice. The Ljubljana to Zidani Most railway line runs through the settlement. Traditionally the area was part of Lower Carniola and is now included with the rest of the municipality into the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church is dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows and belongs to the Kresnice Parish. It was built in 1841 on the site of an earlier chapel.[3]
